Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 6 appropriates $200.0 in recurring general fund for FY01 to the Second Judicial District Attorney for costs related to reindicting cases invalidated by the Supreme Court opinion in State v. Ulibarri and Popplewell. The Supreme Court opined that juries had been improperly instructed in a significant number of cases in the Second Judicial District and that indictments in these cases were no longer valid.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Senate Bill 6 appropriates $200.0 in recurring general fund.
