AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO COMPLETE A DATABASE ON PUBLIC SCHOOL CAPITAL OUTLAY NEEDS FUNDED THROUGH THE PUBLIC SCHOOL CAPITAL OUTLAY ACT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 and 2001 to contract for an assessment of the capital improvement needs of school districts statewide and to complete an associated database. Any unencumbered or unexpended balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
