AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE CARE OF DISABLED AND ELDERLY PERSONS UNDER THE STATE'S DISABLED AND ELDERLY MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of providing services under the state's disabled and elderly medicaid waiver program to persons eligible for the program but not receiving services due to lack of sufficient funds. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
