SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___7___ to SENATE BILL 15, as amended

1. On page 175, between lines 16 and 17, insert:

"(49) STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION:

Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 in the following amounts for the following purposes:

A. one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase mental health early identification and violence prediction instruments;

B. two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to train kindergarten through third grade teachers, social workers and counselors how to identify mental health problems in students and how to interpret mental health early identification and violence prediction instruments; and

C. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to contract for community-based mental health services for students with mental health problems.".

2. On page 176, between lines 7 and 8, insert:

"(54) UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO:

Two million three hundred sixty thousand dollars ($2,360,000) is appropriated from the tobacco settlement permanent fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 through 2003 to enable the university of New Mexico cancer center, school of medicine and health sciences center to establish a multidisciplinary research program in human genomics.".

3. Renumber the succeeding items accordingly.

4. Revise all totals and subtotals accordingly.
