RELATING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING; REQUIRING THE SHARING OF FIRE ACADEMY TRAINING FACILITIES; ENACTING SECTIONS OF THE NMSA 1978.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Law Enforcement Training Act is enacted to read:

"TRAINING FACILITIES.--The board shall enter into a cooperative agreement with the state fire marshal to share the use of the Socorro fire training facility to provide an additional site for the provision of law enforcement academy training."

Section 2. A new section of Chapter 59A, Article 52 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

"FIRE PROTECTION TRAINING FACILITY--COOPERATIVE SHARING AGREEMENT.--The state fire marshal shall enter into a cooperative agreement with the New Mexico law enforcement academy board to allow law enforcement academy training to occur at the fire training facility in Socorro."
