PROPOSING RATIFICATION AND APPROVAL OF A TERM LEASE TO SANTA FE COUNTY OF A BUILDING OF THE PENITENTIARY OF NEW MEXICO LOCATED IN SANTA FE COUNTY.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

WHEREAS, Section 13-6-3 NMSA 1978 requires ratification and approval of any sale, trade or lease of state property over one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) in value; and

WHEREAS, the property control division of the general services department desires to lease a facility that is currently vacant; and

WHEREAS, the real property, with improvements, is located on state highway 14, within Santa Fe county, New Mexico, and is commonly known as the main unit of the state penitentiary; and

WHEREAS, the proposed lease includes all tangible personal property and rights appurtenant to the real property;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the proposed lease is ratified and approved pursuant to the provisions of Section 13-6-3 NMSA 1978; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the property control division of the general services department and the resource development division of Santa Fe county.
