A JOINT MEMORIAL

REQUESTING THE TAXATION AND REVENUE DEPARTMENT TO PERFORM ANOTHER APPRAISAL ON LA VILLA RIVERA AND MARIAN HALL PROPERTIES IN SANTA FE COUNTY.



WHEREAS, Senate Joint Resolution 13 of the second session of the forty-third legislature approved the sale by the state of La Villa Rivera and Marian Hall properties in Santa Fe county; and

WHEREAS, the resolution stipulated that the price could not be less than the value established by the taxation and revenue department; and

WHEREAS, the city of Santa Fe has expressed interest in purchasing the property for the purpose of providing essential municipal services for its citizens; and

WHEREAS, the taxation and revenue department has established a value for the property that does not reflect the potential use of the property by a municipality and does not reflect repairs that are needed in order for the property to be functional; and

WHEREAS, the city of Santa Fe believes that the value established by the taxation and revenue department does not represent the fair market value of the property;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the taxation and revenue department be requested to again establish a value for La Villa Rivera and Marian Hall properties pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution 13 of the second session of the forty-third legislature; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the new value more accurately reflect the fair market value of the property; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the taxation and revenue department, the property control division of the general services department and the city of Santa Fe.
