Your RULES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 11, strike "ADOPT" and insert in lieu thereof "REVIEW AND APPROVE".

2. On page 1, line 12, after "GUIDE", insert "AND OTHER SIMILAR GUIDEBOOKS" and strike the second occurrence of "A".

3. On page 1, line 13, strike "TEXTBOOK" and insert in lieu thereof "TEXTBOOKS".

4. On page 2, line 1, strike "and".

5. On page 2, strike lines 2 through 4.

6. On page 2, lines 6 and 7, strike "examine the feasibility of adopting" and insert in lieu thereof "review and approve".

7. On page 2, line 8, after "Guide" insert "and other similar guidebooks written to help public schools teach The Holy Bible consistently throughout the state", strike "a state-approved text book" and insert in lieu thereof "state-approved textbooks".

8. On page 2, line 11, strike "immediately following the formal adoption of curriculum".,

9. On page 2, line 12, before the semicolon insert "about the review and recommendations for approval of such guidebooks as state-approved textbooks".

10. On page 2, line 16, before the period insert "for appropriate distribution to local school board members, local superintendents, principals and teachers statewide".,

and thence referred to the EDUCATION COMMITTEE.
