SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 257 appropriates funds to the Tourism Department to contract for the provision of management, marketing and promotion services for an intertribal ceremonial in Gallup located in McKinley county.
Significant Issues
The Tourism Department currently operates an Indian Tourism program within the Travel and Marketing Division. In fiscal year 1999, the department spent $97.5 or 1.5 percent of the division budget on Indian Tourism.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The bill appropriates $100.0 from the general fund to the Tourism Department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
