SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
HB445 amends the existing statutes to allow district attorneys the option of contracting with Indian tribes residing within their respective judicial district for prosecutorial services in tribal courts.
FISCAL/ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The bill does not contain an appropriation. However, the tribes could pay the district attorney per contract or reimburse the department of finance and administration to the credit of the district attorney's budget for associated costs. AODA mentioned minimal administrative impact as all expenses would be paid by the tribes.
