SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 265 appropriates funds to the Economic Development Department for the purpose of matching federal funds for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program.
Significant Issues
The federal government has deemed that the current state Manufacturing Extension Partnership provider , Industry Network Corporation, does not meet the requirements necessary and will end its participation as of June 30, 2000. Currently, there is no identified provider to succeed the Industry Network Corporation.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The bill appropriates $400.0 from the general fund to the Economic Development Department for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 and 2001. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
