SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
The bill appropriates $1,500.0 in general fund to provide dental services pursuant to the Rural Primary Health Care Act (RPHCA).
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The bill appropriates $1,500.0 in general fund in FY01 to the Department of Health (DOH).
In FY00, over $13 million was appropriated for community health care services pursuant to the Rural Primary Health Care Act. The Health Policy Commission suggests that DOH require a fixed portion of these RPHCA funds be expended on dental services.
CONFLICT/DUPLICATION/COMPANIONSHIP/RELATIONSHIP
HB197 relates to the General Appropriation Acts, HB2 and SB2, which contain appropriations for RPHCA; relates to HB38 which amends the Primary Care Capital Fund Act to allow for equipment purchases for community health centers; relates to HB95, HB162 and SB156 which appropriate funds for dental education at community colleges; and relates to HB165 which establishes an essential community provider fund and authorizes transfers from the RPHCA fund.
