SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
The bill appropriates $145.0 to the SDE for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to expand summer school programs for underachieving students in the Santa Fe school district.
Significant Issues
The summer school programs are to be conducted in collaboration with the city of Santa Fe at four low performing schools in the Santa Fe school district. SDE reports that, during the summer of 1999, the district operated summer school programs at seven sites, and the appropriation is intended to expand existing programs where collaboration is not currently occurring.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The bill appropriates $145.0 to the SDE for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 in the Santa Fe school district. Unexpended or unencumbered balances remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
None. The district will administer the program.
