SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
HB129 appropriates $1,000.0 from the general fund to the Department of Finance and Administration for FY 01 to contract for statewide services for the homeless, including emergency shelters, meals, transitional housing, employment assistance and stable supportive housing. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY 01 shall revert to the general fund.
Significant Issues
Human Services Department administers homeless programs and therefore should receive the funds.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
This bill appropriates $1,000.0 in general fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The bill does not provide for the administration of issuing and monitoring of contracts. HSD did not note this as a problem. HSD currently issues and monitors contracts to community providers.
