REQUESTED BY

FOR REAUTHORIZING A SEVERANCE TAX BOND APPROPRIATION FOR A HEAD START

FACILITY IN SHIPROCK IN SAN JUAN COUNTY.

The proceeds from the sale of severance tax bonds appropriated to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs pursuant to Subsection C of Section 9 of Chapter 4 of Laws 1996 (1st S.S.) for purchasing or constructing a modular building to house community services programs in Shiprock in San Juan county shall not be expended for the original purpose but are reauthorized and appropriated to construct, equip and furnish a head start facility in Shiprock. The period of time in which this appropriation may be expended shall be extended through fiscal year 2004. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the severance tax bonding fund.
