AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FISH PASSAGE STRUCTURES AT DIVERSION DAMS TO FACILITATE MIGRATION OF STATE-LISTED ENDANGERED SPECIES AND SCREENS TO PREVENT INTRODUCTION OF ENDANGERED SPECIES INTO DELIVERY CHANNELS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the New Mexico irrigation works construction fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 and 2002 to construct fish passage structures at diversion dams to facilitate migration of state-listed endangered species and screens to prevent introduction of endangered species into delivery channels. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the New Mexico irrigation works construction fund.
