AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE INTERSTATE STREAM COMMISSION TO CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE, CONSTRUCTION, IMPROVEMENT OR INSTALLATION OF DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEMS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the New Mexico irrigation works construction fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of contracting with agricultural water users for the purchase, construction, improvement or installation of drip irrigation systems. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the New Mexico irrigation works construction fund.
