MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SAFE SCHOOL PLANS STATEWIDE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($1,250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to enable school staff, community members and students to implement safe school plans statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
