AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND A BEFORE- AND AFTER-SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN IN ALBUQUERQUE AND RIO RANCHO SCHOOLS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to provide funding for weekly before- and after-school care for one thousand three hundred elementary school children at twenty-seven schools throughout Albuquerque and Rio Rancho school districts. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
