MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE THE VALUE OF CURRENT YEAR PUBLIC SCHOOL ENROLLMENT GROWTH PROGRAM UNITS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million eight hundred thirty-two thousand one hundred dollars ($2,832,100) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to provide funding for public school enrollment growth program units at the value of 1.86. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
