MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION TO FUND A PARTIAL INCREASE IN THE ADULT BASIC EDUCATION WORKLOAD FORMULA.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to fund a partial increase in the adult basic education workload formula. The funding increase in the adult basic education workload formula shall be distributed to twenty-two administrative sites across the state that are responsible for the delivery of adult basic education programs and services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
