AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTRACT FOR RODENT CONTROL SERVICES IN THE RAMAH NAVAJO AREA; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million nine hundred eighty-two thousand four hundred dollars ($2,982,400) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 and 2001 to contract with a rodent control program to provide response team training and community education, to purchase rodent control program equipment and supplies and to make buildings rodent proof in the Ramah Navajo chapter. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
