Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 6, line 2, before the period insert "or if the student assistance team determines that retention in eighth grade will not remediate the academic deficiencies of the student, the team may design a high school graduation plan to meet the student's needs for entry into the workforce or a post-secondary educational institution.".

2. On page 6, line 2, strike "The" and insert in lieu thereof "If a student is retained in the eighth grade the".
