Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 89, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. Strike Senate Education Committee Amendments 1 and 2.
2. On page 3, remove the brackets and line-through on lines 3 through 6.
3. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
4. On page 6, line 2, before the period insert "with the aid of a specific academic improvement plan, and if the student assistance team determines the student cannot meet academic achievement and proficiency of standards through retention, the student will be promoted to high school with the requirement that the student assessment team design a high school graduation plan to meet the student's needs for entry into the workforce or a post-secondary institution".
