AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of supporting the dual language immersion program under the Bilingual Multicultural Education Act to promote literacy and achievement in two languages. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
