AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR STATEWIDE MEDIA EDUCATION AND TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMS IN MEDIA LITERACY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for statewide media education and teacher training programs to meet the needs for media literacy. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
