AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION FOR THE NEW MEXICO ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of continuing and expanding public high school student and teacher participation in the New Mexico advanced placement program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
