AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WOMEN'S SPORTS AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of increasing women's sports activities to comply with Title 9 of the federal Education Amendments of 1972. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
