MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN SUPPORT OF A COMPREHENSIVE PRENATAL AND PEDIATRIC HEALTH CARE PROGRAM FOR UNINSURED WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of contracting for a comprehensive prenatal and pediatric health care program, emphasizing prevention and early detection, for uninsured women and children in southern New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
