AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTRACTING FOR SCHOOL-BASED MENTORING PROGRAMS FOR AT-RISK CHILDREN WHO ATTEND PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN BERNALILLO, SANTA FE, RIO ARRIBA AND TAOS COUNTIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred twenty-four thousand dollars ($224,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of contracting for school-based mentoring programs for at-risk children who attend public schools in Bernalillo, Santa Fe, Rio Arriba and Taos counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
