AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE NEW MEXICO SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the following purposes at the New Mexico small business development centers:

(1) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for statewide professional development, staff certification and training expenses;

(2) two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for equipment upgrades, hardware and software and business reference library upgrades;

(3) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to establish and operate a full-time small business development center in Rio Rancho;

(4) fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to the lead center at Santa Fe community college for direct program management expenses; and

(5) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for local center operating needs.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
