AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENHANCE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CHILE INDUSTRY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to enhance research and development by the agricultural experiment station of mechanical chile harvesting technologies to protect the chile industry. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
