AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE CHILDREN'S CANCER PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred twenty-one thousand three hundred dollars ($321,300) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the pediatric oncology program in the health sciences center. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
