MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENHANCE THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM BY FACULTY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO AND DEVELOPMENT OF A JOINT TEACHER INSTITUTE WITH THE ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred twenty-two thousand dollars ($422,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of enhancing the use of technology in the classroom through faculty development and development of a joint teacher institute with the Albuquerque public schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
