MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF NURSING EDUCATION PROGRAMS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO'S HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred ninety-eight thousand eight hundred dollars ($798,800) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 and 2001 for the purpose of expanding the college of nursing instructional and general programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
