AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A CHARITY CAR PROGRAM TO ASSIST NEW MEXICO WORKS ACT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS TO MEET WORK AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state highway and transportation department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to design, implement and administer a "charity car" pilot program to assist New Mexico Works Act program participants to meet work and training requirements. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
