AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WATERSHED ENHANCEMENT PROJECTS IN NEW MEXICO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for allocation to the Santa Fe soil and water conservation district for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of conducting a pilot project to improve the Santa Fe watershed, including vegetation management to enhance water conservation and improve water quality. The Santa Fe soil and water conservation district shall cooperate with other federal, state and local agencies. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
