AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTRACT TO PROVIDE PEACEMAKING SERVICES TO NORTHWESTERN NEW MEXICO COMMUNITIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to provide peacemaker services and the office support required to provide those services in Navajo Nation chapters only in San Juan county. The appropriation in this act shall not be expended on indirect costs of administering the peacemaker program other than the costs of the Shiprock office. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
