AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FOR INDIGENT AND LOW-INCOME PERSONS IN NEED OF MEDICAL PRESCRIPTIONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to provide emergency funds to regional community action agencies for medically necessary prescription drugs for indigent and low-income persons. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
