MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NATIVE AMERICAN BRIDGES PROGRAM AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred fifteen thousand dollars ($415,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the Native American bridges program to meet critical needs in Native American higher education, including a summer program of short courses, classes and workshops and development of an American Indian studies program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
