AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A RECYCLING PROJECT IN LEA COUNTY FOR PRODUCED WATER.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the oil conservation division of the energy, minerals and natural resources department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of conducting a research and demonstration project using reverse osmosis or other appropriate technology to recycle produced water from oil or gas well drilling in Lea county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
