Synopsis of Bill

House Joint Memorial requests the New Mexico Health Policy Commission to lead an effort to streamline and standardize health data collection throughout state agencies.

Significant Issues

The Health Information System Act requires a statewide health data system, resulting in Healthlink New Mexico providing a foundation for integrated health information.

The memorial requires the support and cooperation of all affected state agencies and department for the development of standardized health data collection.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

This memorial contains no appropriation. Costs in administration for affected state agencies may be incurred, but should be absorbed in the operating budget.

ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS

There will be an increase in administrative functions for the Health Policy Commission and affected agencies. There is no additional FTE identified as a need for this memorial, so the agencies should absorb the additional administrative function within their existing capacity.
