SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

The bill proposes requiring municipalities and counties to maintain up-to-date maps to show proposed or contemplated streets and roads, and major changes to existing streets and roads. Municipalities are further required to coordinate their maps with county and state maps on routes that intersect or become county or state roads or highways. Municipalities would be required to publicize the availability of the maps.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The provisions of the bill could pose a financial hardship on localities without sufficient resources to produce and distribute maps.
