REQUESTED BY

FOR A REAUTHORIZATION TO EXTEND THE EXPENDITURE PERIOD AND CHANGE THE

PURPOSE FOR A YOUTH CENTER FOR THE JICARILLA TRIBE IN RIO ARRIBA COUNTY.

The severance tax bond proceeds appropriated to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs pursuant

to Subsection D of Section 18 of Chapter 118 of Laws 1998 to plan a juvenile residential facility for the

Jicarilla Apache tribe in Dulce in Rio Arriba county shall not be used for that purpose, but are

appropriated to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs to plan and design a youth center for the Jicarilla

Apache tribe. The period of time in which this appropriation may be expended shall be extended through

fiscal year 2003. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining from the proceeds of the bonds at

the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the severance tax bonding fund.
