AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CULTURAL PRESERVATION PROGRAMS THROUGH THE OFFICE OF INDIAN AFFAIRS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of conducting a cultural preservation program, outreach and technical assistance in developing the capacity and infrastructure for tribal governments among Native American communities in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
