MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION TO PROVIDE FOR AN AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAM FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS IN TAOS COUNTY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to contract for an after-school tutoring and arts program for elementary school students and a summer camp program for low-income students in Taos county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
