Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 13, before the period insert "; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY".

2. On page 1, line 16 after the dash" insert the subsection designation "A.".

3. On page 1, strike line 18 and insert in lieu thereof "department of health for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 and 2000".

4. On page 1, line 20, before the period insert "in the following amounts for the following purposes:

(1) nine million three hundred ninety-six thousand dollars ($9,396,000) to serve persons under the developmentally disabled waiver program; and

(2) twelve million six hundred four thousand dollars ($12,604,000) to provide minimal personal support services to persons not enrolled in the developmentally disabled waiver program".

5. On page 1, line 20, before "Any" insert the subsection designation "B.".

6. On page 1, between lines 22 and 23 insert the following section:

"Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.".,

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
