Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 315

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 12, after "BOARD" insert "; INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS".

2. On page 1, line 20, strike "four" and insert in lieu thereof "five".

3. On page 1, lines 21 and 22, strike "Each member of the board shall devote his full time to the duties of the board.".

4. On page 2, line 24, insert the following new section:

"Section 2. Section 31-21-23 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1975, Chapter 194, Section 2) is amended to read:

"31-21-23. PURPOSE.--The purpose of the Parole Board Act is to create a [full-time], professional [salaried] parole board."".,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS & FINANCE COMMITTEE.
