MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ACEQUIA AND COMMUNITY DITCH FUND.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the acequia and community ditch fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of providing assistance to acequia and community ditch associations involved in the adjudication process. No more than five percent of the appropriation may be expended by the New Mexico department of agriculture for administrative costs incurred in the administration of the fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
