MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EXPANSION OF A SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR UNDERACHIEVING STUDENTS IN THE SANTA FE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of funding the expansion of a summer school program to be conducted in collaboration with the city of Santa Fe for underachieving students in the Santa Fe school public school district. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
